Ammo date of manufacture from lot numbers?

Post by frozebubba »

Hello,
I have 2 old boxes of Rem. .30-06 ammo (green and red boxes):

1) Kleenbore, 150 grain metal case pointed bullet (5930 in lower right corner of front of box);
lot number stamped inside flap is N04E14
2) Kleenbore, Hi-Speed, 180 grain soft point Core-Lokt bullet (6430 in lower right corner of front of box); lot number stamped on back of box H09E26

Can anyone tell me when these were manufactured or send me to a source where I could pursue the issue? Thanks

It sounds like you have early 50s boxes unless there is a child warning on the front then your boxes are 1962 and above.

Thanks for the help. No child warning on the boxes.
