Field master 121: Having problem with final assembly of rifle.
There is a loose part (sliding part) that has a ramp on it related to feeding a new round. I received this gun broken down and I have not yet discovered how this part goes into the mechanism. A schematic or cut away photo showing the assembly would be very helpful.
The Numrich listing does not show orientation of parts.
After a few days of frustration, the problem is resolved. The part in question is item 257 (retainer S, L, LR) marked "L" by the way. This part fits in a space just under the breach and points forward through the receiver and rides in a channel groove on top of the magazine.
Too bad Remington and other manufactures don't make legacy info available.
