870 Wingmaster barrel fit?

Post by zuikowarrior »

I just bought a near new 28-inch vent rib Rem Choke barrel for my older (build date unknown) 20-gauge Wingmaster. Unfortunately, I didn't know that the magazine tube diameter is a variable on Wingmasters. I thought only the Express had the dinky tube diameter. At any rate, the barrel I bought came in a box is marked Wingmaster, and it is blued, but the mounting ring is sized for the small tube and won't fit my shotgun now that I'm home. I bought it at a gunshow so I can't easily return it. Any options here? Can the mounting ring be removed from the old barrel and rebrazed to the new? I'll be surprised if that is economically feasible, but who knows?

Sell it and buy another one. You must have a standard weight 20 gauge Wingmaster. These people might work a trade, I don't know.
