Remington 700's with Enhanced Receiver Engraving

Post by Mountain »

I have seen a small handful of Remington 700's with Enhanced Receiver Engraving, they have a scrollwork type engraving on the action, some of them have detachable magazines but the ones that do not have an engraving of a Ram on the hinged floor plate. I have seen both blued/wood and stainless/synthetic. I have seen them in .17Rem, 22-250, 7MM Ultra Mag, and 30-06. Can anyone tell me with any degree of certainty what calibers were made with the Enhanced Receiver Engraving, and what years they were produced? Or if you can't, I'd be interested to hear what other calibers anyone has seen this in.

These are a little too new for my interest, but I do see them alot. You can search remington 700 on gunbroker. Usually they are titled enhanced reciever. Scroll down the list and see if there are any calibers that you did not mention. Since they made so many of them all the calibers should be on there.

Gunbroker is actually where I discovered them. The calibers that I listed are the ones that I have come across on there, mostly 30-06's. Still interested to learn when they were made, especially if anyone has any information as to which particular calibers were made in which years. Has anyone seen any in 6mm, .243, or .308?

I will have to disagree on the remingtons in winchester calibers. 90% of the tine when you see a Remington 700 on a shelf its going to be a 308, 243 or a 270 with the old springfield 30-06. They would make in any caliber that would sell. They actually ended the last Classic run is a Winchester caliber.

Out of 50 calibers that the 700 has been offered in not counting the muzzleloader only 25 are Remington calibers.

A remington in a winchester caliber is far from rare.

Im not putting words in your mouth. I am speaking from my knowledge. Remington made a TON of 700s in Winchester calibers. The only hard to find one would be your 264 Win Mag, and I would not classify it as rare just a little tougher to find. If I were to make a list of rare (or hard to find) 700s there would be no current calibers on the list. I guess I would list from hardest being first. 6mm Rem Mag, 7mm-06, 6.5 Rem Mag, 350 Rem Mag, 264 Win Mag, 222 Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag. The most popular would be 308 Win, 270 Win, 30-06 Sprg, and the 243 Win.
