Remington 12C ??

Post by wiktor »

Hi Guys,
Just wondering about a Remington 12 with octagon barrel, serial number 88XXX . It isn't marked as a 12C, do you think someone rebarreled it or could it be an unmarked 12C?
Thanks!

You probably have a 12-C. They weren't all stamped as such.

I have a 12C and the marking on the receiver simply says Model 12. I think that is common.

Neither of mine are marked C. From the little I know about them it is just the specifics you need to know to tell each model from another.

If you could get the rifle lettered that may tell you if it was rebarreled.

There are no factory letters for Remingtons. Our book, Remington .22 Rimfire Rifles (click books on the home page) gives the dates of the changes on various features on Rem M/12s and other models.
