Your rifle is estimated to have been manufactured during 1927

Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for replying. I should have mentioned that the rifle is a lever take down, not the screw version. I was under the impression that the lever type were all made prior to 1910. Is it possible that Rem continued to make the lever type along with the screw type?
Thanks,

According to John Gyde and Roy Marcot in their book "Remington .22 rimFire Rifles"
No.4 “Lever Take-Down” Sporting Rifles
(1901-1924)
Serial numbers known from 168525 - 318726
Production of about 170,000 Rifles
This wonderful book should be in everyones library. Hundreds of pages of detailed data and excellent photography.

That's a bit confusing. Did they make lever takedowns and screw takedowns at the same time? I'm looking at a screw takedown with a 317xxx number.
I always take precautions.
