Remington/ The sportsman (improved model 11) 12-gauge

Post by ianosis »

[bI recently traded for a Remington 12 gauge/ The Sportsman. Can anyone tell me how to disassemble this gun. I don't think it has ever been thoroughly cleaned. I removed the barrell, but the magazine and the bolt are very complicated at first glance. Does anyone know the correct order of the rings and re-coil spring. It has a barrell that is 22 11/16 long is this standard or has it been modified. Any help or info on where to look for help is greatly appreciated. The numbers on the barrell indicate that it was made in March 1947. At Remington's website, it describes this gun perfectly, but says the serial number block should have an s at the begining, mine does not. Any and all help and advice is welcome and appreciated. ][/b]
