Information/scope
Information/scope
I just recently purchased a new scope, I understanf most of the instructions but I'm not clear on what the parallax is and when or how to use the adjustment. Would some one explain this to me? The factory says that it is set to be parallax free to 100 yds.
Re: Information/scope
Parallax is the apparent shift of an image when viewed from two different angles. For example if you close one eye and point at an object then close that eye and open the other without moving your finger. Your finger will no longer be on the object, but to one side or the other. Parallax free to 100 yds in this case means (I believe) that even if you are not looking exactly down the center of the scope the cross point of the cross hairs will be on the same point of aim. Some variable scopes have parallax adjustments for range to compensate for the distance to target.
