Remington Model 17

What length of 20 gauge shotgun shell did the Model 17 shoot? I know that from 1912 until 1927, the Winchester Model 12 in 20 gauge would only take the little 2 1/2 inch 20 gauge shell. Did the Model 17 take a 2 3/4 inch shell?
